He was born on October 2, 1913 in Atlanta, GA to the late William Henry and Allie Boyd Rieves Courtenay. He graduated High School from Los Angeles High School in Los Angeles, CA and later graduated from UCLA. Mr. Courtenay was a past General Manager for The Country Club of Little Rock for 16 years, the Red Apple Inn for several years, the Beverly Hills Hotel, Lake Arrow Head Lodge, and a Supervisor for Douglas Aircraft.
