The Mickel family would like to thank everyone who gave care and compassion to Delbert during the past four years. You gave him love and encouragement that only very special people could. God bless you all.

As an adult, I now look back with deep appreciation for all the times he patiently gave me the time of day as a young kid. I remember Delbert at the baseball card shows in the mid 80's and he always treated me as an adult. He was a class act and it is an honor to have gained some of his vast knowledge of vintage baseball. "

"Mr. Mickel's twinkle in his eye and bright smile will forever be missed. While he was most definitely a second dad to the Kelley boys, he was also thought of that way by us Kelley girls too. Whether it was the huge hug, the way he said, "Miss Natalie," or the so so so many wonderful memories of all the boys playing baseball under his wing, I'll never forget what a kind, inclusive and caring person he was. I feel so fortunate to have gotten to have moved back to Little Rock for a short time when I got to enjoy many pizzas at Damn Good, cookouts at the Little Red and seeing Mr. Mickel beam with pride at each of his boys weddings. All my thoughts and prayers are and will stay with Mrs. Mickel, Jeff, Wes and family. I love you all so very much. May you allow God to carry you through the toughest days. Love, Natalie "

I first met him when he came to work with the Langston Law firm and I was a secretary/receptionist for Dodds, Kidd & Ryan. Our friendship continued on through the years. "Delbert and I became friends through his business with mutual clients. Delbert developed a great law firm over the years and we helped each other grow our business. Delbert and I would always discuss the Razorbacks football season. I have a good friend, Mike Markuson, that coached offensive line for Houston Nutt. I would always give Delbert updates that Mike would discuss with his friends re upcoming seasons. It was a pleasure meeting Delbert at conferences. He will be missed by all in the mortgage industry. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Delbert's family. "

"Delbert was an old running buddy. We had some funney experiences in our younger days. But on a serious note, I remember sitting in the stands at a Traveler game one evening and I was worried about my own eternal well being at the time. I asked Delbert if he ever worried about dying and going to Hell. He said sharply and quickly "No." I asked why. He said "I believe in Jesus Christ." And THAT is the only correct answer there is to that question."
