Boy what a time you and we have had over the many years Barbara (almost 50, but you know we never tell our real ages!). From Memphis to Vegas, From North Little Rock to Destin, Florida, and Disney World and beyond! Beach bums, travel pals, Razorback #1 fans, cookouts, Annual Celebrations, and so many good times. We miss you terribly and hope you are now frollicking with Peppy and Punzy, your beloved apricot poodle and big ole kitty. Love always, RIL your friends for life and beyond, Kathryn Birchfield and Karen Howard.

To friends and family of Barbara

I will miss Barbara very much. She was a great friend.. we had so much fun together. We met on a cruise and have been friends for over 10 years. She was a wonderful person with a great personality and fantastic sense of humor. She served her community with a caring feeling for others.

Deeply saddened to hear the news about the recent passing of Barbara. I had not known her for years and years, but met her when I relocated to Arkansas, and joined the Hot Springs/Hot Springs Village branch of AAUW. She and I worked closely together for four years when we were both officers of AAUW at the State Level. Barbara was State President of AAUW a minimum of two of those four years; she was a valued member of AAUW, and always had a leadership position in AAUW the years that I was in contact with her. She was a delightful person, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Barbara several years ago when she was working to re-establish the Women's Commission. She immediately became my role model. I loved her as a sister in the struggle. The last couple of years we became very close as members of the GLRFWC. She was truly a lady, a servant, an encourager, and most of all a true friend. Rest in Love and Peace my Friend.

Regret to see Barbara has passed on. Have known her for about 50 years but lost touch this last year due to my illness. I worked with her at the Arkansas Lung Association back in the 60's. She was an enthusiastic person with many projects keeping her busy.

I worked with BARBARA for several years in the tourism industry. At one time she managed the State's tourist information center in Helena and then she moved to NLR and managed the information center for the A&P Commission. She was good with the public, always on time for work and she made sure the American flag was flying in front of the building!
She always stayed in touch with me, especially on holidays. I miss her already!

Barbara was a distant cousin. We didn't see each other much but my memories of her were her soft voice, kindness and southern grace. It is wonderful to read comments about her involvement in women's clubs and her joy of preserving family memorabilia.

Barbara was a great mentor and friend. I enjoyed working with her in AAUW and learning the ropes under her leadership. She was always recruiting new AAUW members, bringing in three women to the organization just this year. She also loved the Greater Little Rock Federation of Women's Clubs, serving as Scholarship Chair this year. She and I shared a love of preserving history and memories. It was a privilege to deliver some of her family memorabilia to Hendrix College and to help preserve a few other of her inherited items. Barbara was wonderful at dreaming big and making the impossible, possible.

I was privileged to know and work with Barbara in AAUW. She was a gentle soul and very adamant about women's issues. She did much for the organization and those of us who knew her were blessed by her presence.
