I am thinking of you all and keeping you in my heart and prayers. I did not know your son, but he sounded like a wonderful young man from the comments I see shared here. And such a beautiful smile. sincerely, Denise (your book club friend)

One cold, gray March day in St. Louis, Andrew agreed to fly a kite with me. After much effort running back and forth across the soccer field, we finally got the kite up in the air. After a few minutes the wind shifted and the kite got stuck in a tree. We laughed so hard that our abs must have been sore for a week.

Processing the permanent absence of this vibrant life is surreal.

My friendship with Andrew began with my draw to his spontaneity, subtle southern charm, and our mutual enthusiasm for the joys of life(or as we called it, 'joie de vivre'). Our freshman year was spent 'figuring it out'- laughing, crying, dancing, and flying a few kites along the way. Even after we went our own ways, he always made reunions feel like we had never been apart.

Andrew always brought a positive energy with him, along with an ability to see and celebrate the best in those around him.

St. Amour family, thank you for raising such a rare, genuine gem of a gentleman and sharing him with the world. He only ever spoke lovingly of his family. My heart is heavy for you all during what I can only imagine as overwhelming and incomprehensible. My thoughts and prayers are with you from now until forever.

Andrew, thank you for all you gave me. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to spend time in the sunlight of your friendship. I love you and will cherish your memory always.

I am at a loss of words to express my sympathy to the St Amour family. Even though I have only worked with Andrew 6 short months, I cannot imagine my days and weekends without him. He was shy at first but eventually his funny and witty side emerged and we became friends. It's surreal that the last time I spoke with him as I was leaving for vacation was the last. As usual he was giving me a hard time about not being there to harass me the next day. Will really miss this guy...

Andrew was so loved by his friends and family. He was gifted, kind, compassionate and generous. His soul showed such love through his eyes. To lose a child, a sibling, a friend, an uncle, is so hard. My prayers are with all of you. May God carry you through your grieving; may your friends hold you up and support you in this loss. We love you.

To the Family of Andrew:

I first met this fine young man when my daughter, Sarah Rodgers Barker, brought him home one evening several years ago. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you as you mourn the loss of your son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was such a thoughtful and compassionate soul with a lot of love in his heart. God bless him and all of you.
