Biography: T. Jack Walsh died on March 11, 2017, at the Hospice Home Care Center in Little Rock. Jack was born on August 14, 1951, in Crossett, Arkansas, to his parents Abner J. and Hortense Elder Walsh. He graduated from Crossett High School in 1969 and from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1973. Jack leaves behind a loving family and numerous friends and fraternity brothers. Jack was a devoted father to his two daughters, Stacey (Adam) Faulkner of Little Rock and Katey Walsh of Fayetteville. He was the beloved Daddy Jack to his granddaughters Kate and Meg Faulkner of Little Rock. He is also survived by his devoted brothers Jeff (Teresa) Walsh and Dr. Ben (Debbie) Walsh, all of Crossett. Survivors also include a number of nephews and nieces who all loved and admired their Uncle Jack - Amy Walsh Kitchen, Caleb Walsh, Brad (Lori) Walsh, Courtney (Mark) Walsh Umeda, Erin Walsh, Thomas (Scottie) Walsh, Ashley Green, and Wesley Green. In addition, Jack is survived by his former wife, Kay Osborne Walsh, and his mother-in-law, Helen Osborne, and two sisters-in-law, Becky (David) Rogers and Beth Green. Jack also leaves to cherish his memory many friends in Crossett, Hot Springs, Fayetteville, Little Rock, and Monroe, La., and a special friend, Joan Bishop, of Booneville. After graduating from college Jack moved to his hometown of Crossett where he was President and CEO of First State Bank from 1974 to 1982. In 1978 he graduated from the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. Jack served as President of the Crossett Chamber of Commerce and the Crossett Area United Way. Jack also served as an Alderman for the Crossett City Council. He was a member of the Crossett First United Methodist Church. In 1984 Jack and his family moved to Monroe, La., where he was President of Ark-LA Oil and Gas Supply Co. After 1989 Jack returned to Arkansas and worked in the appraisal business, first with his own company, then with Malvern National Bank and Arvest Bank. Jack was an avid sportsman and enjoyed duck hunting at Crocketts Bluff with his friends for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and cooking. Jack was a loyal and dedicated member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was initiated in 1970 at the University of Arkansas, Omega Omega Chapter. He served as Consul his senior year. Jack worked the rest of his life serving his fraternity and influencing many young lives. He served as Chapter Advisor of Omega Omega from 2000 to 2011, which had him positively affecting the lives and college careers of the chapter?s undergraduate members. He served on the International Fraternity?s Chapter Expansion team and was a long time workshop facilitator for undergraduate members from all over the United States and Canada. Because of the way he interacted with fraternity members - oftentimes many years younger than himself - he earned their respect and was rewarded with their friendship. He was recognized for his loyalty in service to Sigma Chi many times, most importantly in 2003 when he was voted the International Fraternity?s Outstanding Chapter Advisor. He received four Grand Consul Citations and the Fulbright Award from the U of A. In recognition of his commitment, dedication, and service to Sigma Chi, in 2010 he was inducted into the Fraternity?s Order of Constantine, which is considered the highest honor that Sigma Chi can bestow upon one of its members. A service will be held on Wednesday, March 15 at 10:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St. in Little Rock, with the Very Rev. Dr. Christoph Keller III and the Rev. Canon Dr. Russell Snapp officiating. There will be a reception following the service in Morrison Hall. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 14 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham St., Little Rock. Graveside services will be held in Crossett at Pinewood Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Moore officiating on Thursday, March 16 at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to the Sigma Chi Endowed Scholarship In Memory of T. Jack Walsh, U of A Foundation, Office of Development, 325 Administration Bldg., Fayetteville, AR 72701.

Jack will be greatly missed. He departed more wisdom to young men than he could have ever known. My time in Fayetteville at Omega Omega was more enriched because of him and the time he poured into me. He will truly be missed and the certainly left a legacy that will live on for years to come. My prayers are with his family.

We are unable to attend the services but our thoughts and prayers are with Jack's family and friends. Jack was truly a great person and a true friend. Some of my best memories are when he and I lived together in the Consul's Quarters and watched Mazeppa and Teddie Jack Eddie on Saturday nights. He was a very special person. All honor to his name!

It was very sad to hear of Jack's passing. As a fellow pledge and member of Sigma Chi, we had many wonderful times at the U of A. He will be missed by many people for his work in the fraternity and community. Prayers certainly go out to all his family at this time.

So very sad to hear of Jack's passing! He reviewed many appraisal reports of Team Ag RE and Appraisals while working fir Arvest Bank Such a gentleman. He was always respectful and cordial doing his job! And always wanting to learn more. He will be truly missed!

I had the good fortune of working with Jack at Arvest Bank on the Bentonville Square. He was funny, sweet, easy-going and had a generous heart. I've missed him since he left the bank and will continue to miss him. He had a spirit that touched all those around him.

I met Jack in 1997 at my 1st assessor's meeting. Jack & I worked together for Sharp County from 1997 to 2010. He was one of the best in our business. He was a good friend to me. A good man who will be missed.

We enjoyed getting to know and working with Jack during his time at Arvest. We had such a great time visiting with him at our Fish Fry last spring. Such a kind and enjoyable man. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time.

I met Jack at Assessment meeting when I was Assessor back in the 80's. He was always nice and very knowledgeable about appraisal practices. I was not aware that he had been sick. So sorry for your loss.

From one of the Texas first cousins to Jack, there were many good times together. Christmas and weeks in the summer were always spent in Crossett with our families together growing up and later years together at family reunions. Jack was so social and most likely put the gatherings together. Bottom line though was that all the times spent with Jack were good times. I will miss Jack, but know that he left the world a better place by investing in other peoples lives. Carol and my prayers will continue to be with the family. Ed Nash

I was very sad to learn of Jack's passing. Jack and I didn't cross paths much in recent years. But he and I go way way back. He was one of the first people I met when we first moved to Crossett in the early 60's. He was my junior high football center and my high school football manager. He organized my batchelor party just prior to my marriage. Over the years I have run across many people who knew Jack and spoke so higly of him. Jeff and Ben, our prayers are with you. I'm thankful I knew Jack.

I was very sad to hear of Jack's illness and passing. I knew Jack as a very considerate man of high values and kindness to me and others. It was a blessing to know him as a friend and business associate for several years. I miss him and offer my condolences to his family and friends.

I am saddened to hear of Jack's passing. He positively impacted so many people during his lifetime. He was a Hall of Fame Sigma Chi and and a Hall of Fame person. He will be missed, but remembered by many.
