Biography: Andy Stroube Hendricks died on July 18, 2017. He was 84 years old. Andy was born July 14, 1933 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, but he was raised in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He attended St. Anne?s High School in Ft. Smith, the University of Notre Dame, and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Business Administration. He had a rewarding thirty year career with the Small Business Administration and was passionate about his hobby--gemology. He was an active participant in the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Andy was a devout member of the Catholic Church and humbly practiced his faith every day. This was perhaps the greatest gift he bestowed upon his children and grandchildren. Andy is survived by his wife Dorothy Hendricks of Little Rock and two children, Andy W. Hendricks (his wife Julia) and Christine Mabrey, all of Little Rock. He was the proud grandfather of five grandsons: Anton Alexeev and Daniel Hendricks, both of Little Rock, William Mabrey, Jr. (his wife Kara) of Fayetteville, John Mabrey of Little Rock, and Matthew Mabrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was expecting his first great-grandchild in September. He is also survived by a large, loving, extended family in Ft. Smith. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Helping Hand of Greater Little Rock and to Hospice Home Care. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice Home Care for the kindness, sensitivity, and genuine compassion they demonstrated while caring for Andy and for all of his family. The family also thanks the clergy, staff, and congregation from Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church for their steadfast support and prayers during this difficult time. A visitation from 6:30-7:00pm will be followed by a rosary held at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial followed by an inurnment of ashes, with a reception after, will be held at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10:00am.
