Biography: Jason Frank Adams, age 50, of Little Rock, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on July 23, 2017. He was born in Little Rock on February 8, 1967 to Roxie and Doyle Adams. Jason is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marile, their two sons, Ian and Miles, his mother, Roxie and her partner, Robert Angell, his father, Doyle and his wife, Marcia, his brother, Eric and his wife, Melinda, their children, Ellie, Andrew, Oliver, and Isabel, Uncle Cecil Adams and cousins, Renee and Angie, Uncle Harry Brown and his wife, Barbara, Uncle Bob Steeps and cousin, Bobby, his band brothers, and many other fine musicians and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cleo Brown and grandfather, Harry Frank Brown, his paternal grandmother, Lucielle Adams and grandfather, Jason Morris Adams. Jason was raised in the Leawood neighborhood where he made friends for life and started drumming in his Biscayne basement. He attended Hall High School where he began his music education studying jazz percussion under Lorenzo Smith. He graduated from Central High School and studied music and percussion at UALR. His music career grew exponentially in California where he lived with Loose Change (aka Mojo Depot) bandmates. He made several records with different bands, followed by touring coast to coast. An unfortunate fire in Athens, GA, caused the loss of the band?s equipment and landed him back home in Little Rock where he rekindled the relationship with his high school love and started a family. Jason continued playing, traveling regionally, and recording music with Mojo Depot, Weakness for Blondes, and other bands. Jason was a partner in a roofing company but most of his earnings were used to keep the music playing, Marile dancing, Ian building new computer creations, and Miles drumming. His love of music was only eclipsed by his love of family. Jason was full of love and he liked to share on both personal and musical levels. He loved his family and he loved yours. He genuinely cared about people and paid attention to the fine details in their lives and if help was needed, he was always there. Jason held many bands and friendships together throughout his life and played drums like no other. He bridged the gaps between many groups of friends and he played many styles of music because he could relate to people from all walks of life. He had a magical way at helping people feel at ease on and off stage. He loved to laugh and share that laughter with others. His quick wit was a testament to his attention to the details in the lives of those around him. Just as he heard all the musicians on a stage and provided a foundational backbeat to tie them all together, he perceived the nuances of the lives of his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 28th at Ruebel Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19th down home at the White Water Tavern. All family, friends, and musicians are welcome. In lieu of flowers, college fund accounts have been set up for Ian and Miles at ugift529.com. Miles? code is 67S-29P, Ian?s code is 22G-E25.

Dear Adams Family,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. As part of my ministry work, I try to offer a brief word of comfort to families who have lost loved ones since this may be one of the hardest things any of us will ever have to endure.

I often encourage family members to consider the assurance found at 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 and Luke 20:38:

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
"Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God."

Luke 20:38
He is a God, not of the dead, but of the living, for they are, [from his standpoint], all living to him.?

I hope this note serves as a strengthening aide during this difficult time for your family.

Sincerely,

Calvin

Merile, I am so saddened by the passing of one of my newest friends and fellow musicians. We feel blessed that he got to come to our home and play in our music room, and I am blessed to have shared the gigs and music we played. He was a friend to me right off the first notes.. Please know that your family is in our hearts and prayers at this time. I am so sorry that we are out of the state at this time but please know we are here for you and will be there in our spirit and thoughts for the memorial, play on brother Jason, until we can jam again!

People come in and out of our lives for different purposes and periods of time. Everyone can be a teacher if you are willing to learn. Some lessons are more painful than others but all have the power to add to your evolution. Jason taught us that love and compassion for others is effortless if you let it flow like the beat of a drum. Let that be his legacy. Shine on you crazy diamond.

Marile, we are so sorry to hear about Jason. He is playing sone very beautiful music in Heaven with Kristi dancing, both wearing their Angel wings. You and Jason hold a special place in our hearts because of your love of Kristi and your help during our time of grief. We wish we could be there for you but, unfortunately, we are in Canada and won't be home until mid-August sometime. Please know you and your sweet family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Marile, Ian and Miles,
I'm so sorry about Jason's sudden death. When words can't seem to offer comfort the prayers of those who love you all will. Praying for God to fill you all with His comfort and peace which passes all understanding. Cherish your sweet memories of happier times and know that faith in Christ assures us of eternal life in the presence of our Lord and reunion with those loved ones who also believe and have gone on before us. My daddy passed away 4 years ago on July 31. We love and miss him everyday and find comfort in our faith and God's promise of eternal reunion. In Christ' Love, Brenda Dorman (My husband and I live in your neighborhood and are able to help in anyway you need us too!)

Jason was such a nice guy. When I needed someone to build a porch, he got me a wonderful builder. When the building seemed to me to slow down, Jason talked me through it & kept me calm. He did my roof & laughed when he said he'd have to do a great job since he'd have to look at it everyday from his house down the street. He always waved as I passed by and always seemed to have a big smile. He will be missed by everyone in the neighborhood.
