Biography: Dorothy Jo “Dottie” Hendricks, age 92, of Little Rock, passed away peacefully on
January 17, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1933, in Rossville, Georgia to Tommie and
Bernice Williams.

Dottie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andy S. Hendricks. She is
survived by two children, Andy W. Hendricks (Julia) and Christine Mabrey (Ted), all of
Little Rock. She was the proud grandmother of five grandsons: Anton Alexeev (Emily)
and Daniel Hendricks, both of Little Rock, William Mabrey, Jr. (Kara) of Fayetteville,
John Mabrey of Little Rock, and Matthew Mabrey (Chelsea) of Sand Springs,
Oklahoma. Dottie had four great-grandsons: William, Yates, Whit, and Fount. She is
also survived by many loving friends (especially her Mahjong buddies) who brought her
joy, laughter, and connection.

Dottie enjoyed a long and meaningful career in the travel industry. She began her
professional life as a flight attendant with American Airlines in the 1950’s in Baltimore,
later transitioning to a ticket agent in Little Rock. Her love of travel continued
throughout her career with Air, Land, and Sea Agency and James F. Goodwin Travel.

Creativity was a central part of Dottie’s life. She had a lifelong interest in collecting and
creating art and took numerous classes at the Arkansas Art Center, studying everything
from sculpture to pottery to painting. Her creativity was prolific when her children were
young. She was simply known as “Dot Dot” to the kids, and her house was always full
of neighborhood children working on art projects.

She also worked estate sales with Bette Bogart and Joe Rook and greatly enjoyed the
friendships and stories that accompanied that work. She continued to work estate
sales until she was 90 years old.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Baptist Hospice for their loving and
compassionate care.

A Mass of Christian Burial, with a reception after, will be held on
Friday, January 23rd at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Holy Souls Catholic Church where her remains will be interred next to her husband.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County in honor of Dottie’s animal friends. Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Rd., Little Rock, AR 72210

Oh, the memories with Dottie, Andy, Mother & Daddy and the whole gang. It makes me so sad that the circle her is getting smaller, but I know that the reunion in heaven is one big party! Hugs and love to all!
