Biography:

Kathleen Marie Jasinski was born in Detroit, MI on August 10, 1950.
She attended St. Veronica Grade School in what was then East Detroit, later becoming Eastpointe, MI. Her family moved later to Sterling Hts. where she attended school in the Utica School System. Upon graduation, Kathy attended Western Michigan University, obtaining her BS degree in education/home economics.

After graduating she discovered that home economics was being phased out of schools and she was unable to follow her dream of being a home economics teacher. She did substitute teaching for a while and realized she didn't want to stay on that path. She went back to school to obtain another degree, this time in accounting. After passing the required tests, she became a CPA. Once she had worked a lot of years in accounting, Kathy felt burned out and decided to work retail for a while, which she was very successful at.

Over the years, she purchased a home in Warren, MI, and later a home in Rochester, MI in which she did all interior painting and woodwork finishing.
Kathy was a brilliant seamstress, excellent cook, did lovely crochet, did fine woodwork, loved mowing her lawn and working in her garden. She also made beautiful stained glass pieces.

While visiting her family in Little Rock, AR over the holidays in 2017 into 2018, she became ill and was diagnosed with a devastating Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. She battled her disease for 8 1/2 years until her body gave out on July 3, 2026.

She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Helen Jasinski and her brother Robert Jasinski.

She is survived by her sister, Sandra Petkovsek and her niece Jamie Petkovsek. She is also survived by many cousins and many close and loving friends.

Kathleen's funeral service will be at Christ the King Catholic Church in Little Rock at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, followed by burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Cemetery in Marche, AR. Rosary will be Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6:00 pm at Christ the King.

If you wish to donate in her memory, please donate to Access Schools in Little Rock or to Special Olympics of Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com.
